HP DM1Z Netbook audio output issues.

I never really used this netbook for anything with audio, so this could be a pre existing problem, but since I have started frequently watching movies I encounter a strange and extremely annoying problem. The input indication will rapidly switch, every 2 or 3 seconds between the two states below;

Two.jpg

The result? Audio output switches between the headphones and the laptop speakers, and in a shared house with uni students the noise is unacceptable.

I don't even know how this is supposed to work, the DM1Z only has one 3.5mm jack! I've tried updating drivers, using older versions too. No matter what, it will eventually start screwing up. I might boot and it will do it right away, or in couple hours time; completely random.

This is driving me up the wall, I'm especially frustrated at why the control panel says there are two inputs which seems to me to be a design fault and not a simple error.

I have the same problem with my netbook (DM1-3250BR, a variation of DM1Z in Brazil). Someone solve this problem?

Re: HP DM1Z Netbook audio output issues.

Hey,

What BIOS version are you using? Press FN+ESC for System Information (Ex. F.12)

What version of IDT HD Sound are you using? Press the ? at the top right then check version (Ex: 1.0.6302.0)

I also find it a little odd that your showing the recording tab but the issue is with playback.

I am an HP employee.

Re: HP DM1Z Netbook audio output issues.

[ Edited ]

I use the version F.13 of BIOS, but the old version (F.12) also occurs.

My IDT driver audio version is 6.10.6328 (this driver is from HP Envy, is more recent), but the old drivers don't work properly.

I think this problem is on hardware, not in software. I'll send my equip to HP for check this problem.

I filed a helpdesk ticket and they said it was a hardware issues - and I should return the computer for servicing - FYI.

Re: HP DM1Z Netbook audio output issues.

I and many others have mentioned in other posts that we have the same issue. I got no replys so I'll try here again...

so many people have this issue...lots of new posts regarding this but no replys!

It would be nice if we could get to the bottom of this and solve it.

Re: HP DM1Z Netbook audio output issues.

No solution yet?
Many people have this problem, who do not have, is because they do not use headphones.
Does the manager to use another to replace IDT?
