HP DV6000, windows 7: Lost all audio devices and sound

I've lost all sound on my HP Pavillion dv6000. Checked device drivers and shows no audio devices.  Speaker icon in system tray shows red x.  MS Fixit didn't work.  Is there a way to reinstall sound drivers for this system?
