Re: HP HDX16t Sound Distortion/Speaker Buzz Issue

I have a similar problem. I hear this strange sound coming from the speakers when I play certain songs, but my problem is not the hardware, I know this because when I plug in my headphones I still here the strange sound coming from those. I know it's not the song itself because it's from my iTunes library which I copied from my old computer and this song sound just fine on my old computer.

Yeah, that's different.  I don't know what that is.  Try reinstalling the audio driver.

IS it like a crackle or hiss nosie for like a second?   Do you experience this when multitasking or browsing the web?  For me it's like a little hiss or crackle pop, barely can hear it but its there.

It's not that confusing!  Yes, what you're talking about happens as well but I don't care about that and that's not what I mean.  What I havce is exactly as I described - it's impossible to be described any better.

Re: HP HDX16t Sound Distortion/Speaker Buzz Issue

Hi all,

I have the same issue with my HDX 1180ew. The chassis is vibrating in quite an annoying way when some sounds (frequencies?) are played. My computer has already been serviced by HP. They said they replaced the subwoofer, but it really did not help much. The problem seems to be 'mechanical', pushing against the front speaker panel does alleviate it a bit.

If anyone finds out how to improve/fix this, please let us know.

regards

Re: HP HDX16t Sound Distortion/Speaker Buzz Issue

I am experiencing the same thing - I thought it was the speakers too, but I just noticed today that the problem can be recreated through any of the headphones I've tried.

I'm very frustrated at this point - I am a web developer and cannot afford for my laptpo to be in the repair shop for a week and a half, especially if it's unlikely that the problem will even be fixed.

HP - Time to step up your game. Why is this happening, and what are you going to do about it?

You're having a different problem then.  It doesn;t happen with headphones..  As for me and a few others on here, the speakers' vibration is what's causing the noise.

Re: HP HDX16t Sound Distortion/Speaker Buzz Issue

I meant that to be in response to CoreyVM. I should have quoted his message, I apologize.

Issue stands though - there shouldn't be this many problems with what was supposed to be a high-end sound system. I also believe my problem may be inter-related.

Yeah, I mean, I of course agree with you.  Just wanted to make clear that they were separate problems.
