HP Pavilion dv6 notebook PC, Windows 7, buzzing static in windows media player

For about three weeks now I've been having this very annoying buzzing that randomly interrupts music and video played through Windows Media Player.  From what I've read on line, many folks are having the same issues and the buzzing static effects other sound programs as well.  There are recommendations to complete a system restore, uninstall sound drivers, etc.  I did complete a system restore and that solved the problem, but after a couple of days, there was a series of automatic updates and now I have the problem again.  And now system restore does not solve the problem.  My computer says my drivers are all up to date.  Some folks recommended only using HP specific drivers and I believe that's what I'm using.  Anyway, it's driving me crazy and if anyone has any solutions, I'd be very grateful.  Thanks.

I am having the same problem, and HP Assistant is no help. Did you find a solution?
