Hello, im having some troubles with my HP Pavilion dv7 notebook. The OS installed on my laptop is Windows 7 Home Premium.
What Caused it..
After i installed a visual theme yesterday, it messed up my explorer.exe, which means it wouldent show my desktop and everything.. So in order to fix that i had to start my computer in safemode with commandprompt, and enter in "sfc.exe /scannow" and after that was done, it fixed the problem and the explorer.exe worked again. But after i runned that command ...
My Problem:
Then the sound icon outside the laptop is red, BUT the sound is working on the computer.
Does anyone know how to fix this??

Check device manager and see if there are any yellow !s or red triangles next to your sound devices. Try to go to the HP Support & Drivers tab at the top of the forums here and find the latest drive for your sound device and install it.

All Sound Drivers are up to-date

I HAVE RESOLVED MY PROBLEM, WHAT I DID WAS TO REINSTALL THE AUDIO DRIVER, AND IT WORKED.

Start --> Search for "Device Management" if no searches pop up open Google Transelater, and translate it to your language. --> Then you are gonna click "Devices to sound, videos and games" Now right click on the audio driver that your computer is using and click "Uninstall", this will NOT remove the audio driver from the list! But just uninstall it.
After you uninstalled it, you are might being ask to reboot your computer, and you'll do that.
Then afterwards open up "Device Management" again, and right click "System devices" and select "Scan for hardware changes"
After that click on "Devices to sound, videos and games" and right click the audio driver that you want to reinstall, and select "Update Driver Software.." And when the new form pops up select "Search automatically for updated driver software"
Hope you can use this ![]()
