It now seems , that it's going on and off.

Hi,
That is really annoying. Has windows re-applied any updates since you did the System Restore?
One other method that may possibly help is this.
Shut down the PC. Remove the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Now hold down the Power Button for a good 30 seconds. Re-fit the battery, plug the AC Adapter back in and start the PC. Is the sound still going on and off?
Regards,
DP-K

Actually there was an error in the restore , it said "Your restore wasn't possible (blah blah) "
But there was audio in the speakers.
Some time passed by and i kept the laptop on my lap while listening to music and then it went off for about 2 mins , and then came back on and then went away..
So i don't think the restore did anything , because i checked the device manager and it still shows the IDT driver and the same version number i last updated to.
Would removing the battery and holding power button for 30 seconds erase any data ? (Like a hard reset)
Or it wouldn't ?

Hi,
No, you won't lose any data trying this. It's just a way of eliminating any static charge that may be interfering with your speakers.
Do you have Norton 360, Norton Internet Security or Norton 2010 installed on your PC?
Best wishes,
DP-K

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Before running System Restore in Safe Mode you will need to turn off Tamper Protection in Norton. Here is a link on how to do that - follow Step 2.
http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_ty
Once you have done this follow this guide as before:
Shut down the PC. Tap away at f8 as you start the PC to bring up Windows recovery console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit return. When this mode has loaded up, click the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore. Pick a restore point a day before November 21 ( ie Nov 20 or Nov 19 ) and proceed with the Restore process. You should now find that System Restore completes successfully. When windows has rebooted, see if your speakers now work.
Let me know if it all works now.
Best wishes,
DP-K

Yes the restoration was successful alright, but no audio playback from the speaker yet.
