My internal microphone will not work on my HP pavilion dv6000 notebook (specifically dv6448se). Vista claims the microphone is active, but it won't pick up a signal.
I'm running the most up to date conexant audio drive version 220.127.116.11. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the HP website as well as letting windows try and install the drivers.
This seems to be an issue that has been affecting countless people and needs to be resolved ASAP!

Device file allows no change.Nothing there.Drivers are said to be OK by Diverscan.
Will not purchase more HP if this is not solved.

All I've had is problems with this computer, and conveniently enough it was after the warranty expired. I've already replaced the motherboard. It just seems to be one problem after another.

I had same problem on my HP G62 after disabling the mic. Some months later I couldn't find an obvious way of enabling it again, this is how I resolved it:
Right click speakers icon on task bar.
Click on Recording devices.
Right click anywhere in box below where it says "Select a recording device below to modify its settings:"
Tick box "Show Disabled Devices".
You should see the Microphone icon appear. Right click it and Enable.
Hope this helps.
