Microphone won't work

Hi I've got a HP Pavilion dv6-2119tx laptop running windows 7 32 bit.

 

The microphone has stopped working. I've checked all the settings and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver sp48668.

 

I've tried 3 different External Mics and the Intergrated mic doesn't work either.

 

I've tried different volume and boost settings, played around with the Exclusive Mode.

 

I've even uninstalled skype and other programs that use the mic.

 

I haven't installed any new software for quite awhile so I'm guessing thats not the problem.

 

I'm literally pulling my hair out at the moment as I'm guessing/hoping it's probably something simple

 

Any help greatly appreciated
