Hi:
Try the Vista audio driver from your notebook's support and driver page.

Hi:
I don't know.
I thought that driver would just install. I had the same issue with my dc6810us and I just used the Vista Driver, and the microphone worked after that.
Try manually updating the driver by browsing to the installation file folder that was created when you ran that driver.
Click on your audio device. Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the Browse my computer for software method and browse to C:\SWSetup\sp39520.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked.
If that doesn't work, then I don't understand why it isn't installing.

Hi
Sorry I am back still having issues!
When installed, will not give voice to the Mic and crashes the notebook
But the sound recorder shows green colored movement indicating some form of waves but will not produce anything when the recorder is asked to record nor the output producing any meaninful sounds on playback
So here I am !
Thx for your patience and willingness to help

Hi:
I wish I could help you further, but other than trying the driver install, I have no other ideas you can try.
