Re: My Hp pavillion g6 audio is gone after installing update bios

What is the bios version did you install, I had two Bios updates since I bought the laptop in late Janurary,

F32

BIOS Version/Date Hewlett-Packard F.32, 01/12/2011

But no problem with the sound, except the speakers are not the best  so  I have external speakers

Re: My Hp pavillion g6 audio is gone after installing update bios

reboot the laptop hit the esc and you come across various options

I believe one is bios you can revert to a previous bios but i have not had any issues updating the bios but i did through HP Support Assistant. I will say I really like the Assistant as tech it is a very simple one for the end user to keep their system updated without searching through Google, or looking for it on the manufactures web site

Re: My Hp pavilion g6 audio is gone after installing update bios

Hello all, we need to ask you for more information so we can assist you with your issue.

Please would you post your Product number, here is a link to help you find it.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00033108&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

Please don't post your serial number, that is for one-on-one support.

The reason we need your specific Product number is that there are many different "g6" models and they have varied Hardware and drivers.

Next we need to know the BIOS version, I think most already posted this but if not please do.

When did the issue begin?

Do you still have the issue?

Have you contacted either phone or email/chat support, if so what steps do you remember trying?

Did you download a BIOS update or was it an automatic download?

Finally for now, what is your current BIOS version?

There are several ways to find the BIOS version on your notebook, here are two.

1. If your Notebook is powered off please press the power button and begin to tap the "f10"key, that will take you into the BIOS and you can see the version there.

2. If you are already in Windows try holding down the "fn" key and pressing the "esc" key at the same time, this should bring up a small system information window.

On The BIOS Roll Back discussed, this is a good method to go back to an earlier version, if it was a BIOS update that caused this, it may help.

Neither a system restore nor a Recovery will change your BIOS version.

However, if you were getting automatic updates from Windows & HP, they may help.

At this point, I'll wait to see what responses we get, & then the community can best judge how to assist you.

Thank you.
