The solution that I recommended that worked for ajha23, was to boot up the PC.
Tap the F10 key at the HP welcome screen to enter the BIOS, and then just set the BIOS to its defaults, save changes, exit and reboot.

What is the exact model of your notebook?
NOTE: Do not provide the serial number, but the product number will work.
Did any update take place before audio was lost? For example, a BIOS update or Windows update?
Is the notebook using the original operating system it came with?

my product number is A6X02UA#ABA and my BIOS is F.1A
my sound is still not working even after doing the restore on the BIOS.
can you please tell me how to fix this?
it stopped working after the BIOS update like everyone else's.
