My computer recognizes but refuses to connect to my Bose wireless bluetooth speaker. What's wrong?

When I check at printers and devices, I get and error message that speakers fail to initialize.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the speakers.  I am also having similar problems with other bluetooth devices.  Any clues what is wrong?
