When I connect a HDMI cable from the HDMI out on my Pavilion dv6 3216us laptop to the HDMI input on my TV I have a great 1920x1080 picture but no audio comes through the TV. The only audio is from the speakers on the laptop. When I look in Control Panel > Sound, even when I select the options to show disabled devices and disconnected devices, the only audio devices I see on the Playback tab are Speakers and Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) and Independent Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC). I see no option for HDMI audio.
There must be a way to get audio output through the HDMI connection. Can anyone help? The PC has 64-bit Windows 7 Professional (it came with Windows 7 Home Premium and I upgraded to Professional). Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your Graphics driver as this should also reinstall the associated HDMI Audio out component - see the link below.
