No HDMI audio

For a very long time i was able to watch movies through my computer on tv. Now i have no audio coming through just video. I'm using an HP G60 Notebook with Windows 7. Anyone have any suggestions for what might have happened?

Kindly check if the HDMI audio, under the Sound Properties (playback), if it is set to default.

 

Try also to use an alternate HDMI cable.

Click on the Start button, then Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound, then Sound.

 

It should open the Sound Properties window and you can check it from there.

i went into sytem sounds and the hdmi device does not show up
