No sound out of headphone jack g4-1104dx

I recently purchased a g4-1104dx new from best buy. Everything seemed to be in order until yesterday when the headphone jack stopped working. Currently the IDT driver i am using is up to date, and it is not the actual headphones, as i have tried several different earbuds and they all fail to produce sound. When plugged in the sound from the speakers stops, however no sound comes from the headphones. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I can't help you, but I have a similar problem. I can't get a microphone plugged into jack to work. All my drivers are up to date. The laptop lists the mic but won't use it.

Hi. I got my external mic to work this afternoon by disabling the internal mic. I should warn you that the internal mic has now completely disappeared rather than just bot being set as default, but I'm sure it can be reinstalled if needed.
