Pavillion DV7 3157 17" Sound & Wireless bar across the top seems to be locked. Help?

Just got back from a trip and the laptop got carted around, so likely something's gotten pushed to lock the top bar? Help?

 

The bar across the top of my DV7 3157 17" laptop is locked. Rebooting didn't help. I have sound but can't adjust the sound using the controls across the top. The "button" that you can touch to mute is red like when it's muted but it's not muted and the wireless "button" is showing red, even though the wireless is working. None of the buttons, mute, sound up/down, rewind, play, fwd, stop, wireless, etc... will respond. Help????

Hi,

 

This may be worth trying. Shutdown the notebook, remove the AC Adapter and remove the battery. Now hold down the Power Button on the notebook for a good 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.
