Please Help !!!! with my pavilion dv4

I have a Pavilion dv4 notebook and I've been having some issues with it. I usually hibernate my computer and I use it a lot. These past few weeks everytime I hibernate it it tells me an error occured and that it didnt shutdown succesfully after I try to turn it back on. the last thing i remember doing before this began to happen was that i downloaded a greeting card software but immediately removed it because the source was iffy. so now my computer is acting up and its running extremely slow especially for an entertainment laptop that usually runs up to four tabs no problem. i use this note book for school and really need it. I keep trying to do a system restore but it brings me to a blue Windows & page that says " please wait while your files and settings are being restored......System Restore initializing" however no progress or loading bars appear and I would hate to restore it to factory default I'm afraid it will mess up my mcaffe subscription Please help me. What can i do?
