Presarion V2000 - hissing noise disturbance on both speakers / headphones

I fell onto the open keyboard of my laptop, after which there is now a continuous hissing sound on both the builtin Altec-Lansing speakers and any headset I use. The audio signal does come through, but the disturbance is unacceptable. I desperately need to fix this problem, since I use my laptop for all my sond editing work. The volume control works and both noise and signal get adjusted. Please HELP!!!
