[SOLVED]HP Dv6 3206AX no sound VIA hdmi

Model: Pavillion DV6 3206AX

Video Driver vers: AMD HD 8.770.2.2200

Sound driver: IDT HD 6.10.6292.0

 

 

Am just wondering if my laptop actually supports audio VIA HDMI? if so what steps are necesary to get it to work?

 

thanks in advance

 

p.s. under "Playback Devices" with show Disabled/Disconnected devices ticked i get Speakers and Headphones and Independent Headphones only

Sorry for the double post but this is the solution i came up with

 

After updating audio drivers

reinstalling graphic drivers and rebooting 10 times + this is what i did to get it to work

 

In catalyst Control Center set the graphics card to 'Power Saver' plug the HDMI cable in switch back to Performance and then the Digital output HDMI showed up.

 

only thought about it this morning but this makes semi sense thought it would show up without switching but owell this works
