Sound Driver - HP Pavillion Zd8290ea

Hi all,

 

I am really struggling as I have somehow managed to get rid of the sound on my laptop and am assuming it is a driver issue.

 

If I click on the speaker at the bottom of my screen it says "The Audio Service is not Running"

 

I have upgraded to Vista Home (32 Bit).

 

Microsoft update doesn't rectify the problem unfortunately, as wont install update, says failed and have followed their instructions to no avail.

 

I am not that technical so any input would be fantasic and greatly appriciated.
