Though the volume scroll zone is working, there's no on-screen-display of it

Though the volume scroll (quicktouch) is working but there's no on-screen-display of it. 

I've already restored the system.FYI i've deleted some start up programs earlier. Plz do suggest the needful.

Note:  Before trying the following, you must have at least one other MediaSmart application installed - if you don't have any, download and install something like HP MediaSmart DVD first.

The volume on-screen display is provided by HP MediaSmart SmartMenu which you can download and install from the link below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48552.exe

After the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

The first thing I'd try is to download and install HP MediaSmart SmartMenu from the link below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48552.exe

After the installation has completed, restart the notebook.
