I have a HP Pavilion dv7-7000 Quad. The volume when playing music goes up and down. Also I cannot control the volume in itunes or winamp. If I turn the volume up in itunes it stays up for a moment but goes back down. When I turn the volume down to 1% in itunes it says there for a few seconds and it slowly goes back up.

I've tried many things trying to get this issue resolved and spent over 2 hours with HP tech rep:
1. Uninstall sound driver, reboot, install driver.
2. Bios flash
3. Reinstalling sound driver using HP recovery manager
4. Windows fix it.
5. Chkdsk
Only thing that worked was
Uninstalled sound driver in device manager and did a refresh to search for new devices and windows installed it automaticlly and it fixed the issue...**bleep**? I had my headphone in the jack when the driver installed.
I am afraid to turn off my computer now.
