When I Play music it sounds staticy and is distored.

Ok. so when ever i play music through the speakers the sound is really distorted. I quite confused. I think its a hard ware issue but I am not sure. I now have to use Headphones or external speakers to listen to music which is very irritating. Please can someone advise me on what to do. I am still covered by my warrenty. Cheers.

Hi

You have a couple of options as I see it.

Go to device manager and uninstall the sound driver and restart and unit will install the driver automatically.

Try doing System restore to the date when the unit was working fine.

Try to update the driver from hp.com website Audio & Bios.

Im not sure which is my driver. Is it the Intel Audio or the Codecs?

Once you are in device manager click on Sound the list below is your driver just right click and uninstall it then restart the unit.

Ok ive tried all three and the audio still doesnt sound normal. it still has the sorta crackle over the top of the song. Is this something to do with the hardware?

Have you tried music on website as well is it the same please update the Bios from HP website and have it checked Also check once unit is powered on how is the start up sound. Incase you have the same issue please contact HP Techincal support to get the part replaced please check the warranty off the unit.
