Product Name: HP G62-223CL Laptop Computer
Operating System: Windows 7-64bit
No error messages.
The Stereo Mixer - Realtek High Definition Audio produces noise (static) unless muted. Is there a way to correct this problem with software or is the audio board defective (broken)?

Hi, if this is static you need to check it out. Plug in your battery charger - do you still hear the noise? If not, it could be your battery interfering with the sound board. As I don't recommend taking your laptop apart, perhaps you could take it back to the shop and see what they say.

Thanks for your response. Called Tech support and they suggested Uninstalling the audio board driver. That worked. After booting with an updated driver the noise went away. Thanks again...gtc
