System information: HP Pavilion dv7-3065-dx Entertainment PC running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
Problem information: Whenever I am viewing something in full screen and I change the volume level, the full-screen program gets minimized and the desktop with the pop-up volume level indicator is displayed
For example: I am watching a video in full-screen mode and decide the volume is too low or high. I use either the remote that came with the PC or the volume slider above the keyboard. Upon adjusting the volume level, the movie gets completely minimized and the desktop is displayed. Shortly after, the volume level indicator pops up on the screen. I then have to click on the program to open it, then hit the full-screen button again... Is there any way I can disable the process and adjust the volume without the change in display?

Hi,
The only way to prevent this happening is to uninstall HP MediaSmart SmartMenu ( listed in Programs and Features ) - this is the utility that is responsible for the volume OSD which in turn, minimizes the current screen.

Hi,
You will lose the on-screen display bar of your MediaSmart software icons, however the applications themselves will be totally unaffected by this.
