i install windows 7 64 bit in my hp pavilion dv 5000,and now i dont have sound.i chec in contro panel,manager divice and my multimedia audio cantroles is not worked....and i cant find a driver....what can i do...tnx

Identify your notebook with the product number and product name. Remove the battery and look for both inside the battery compartment.
Post the installed CPU here in your thread.

Go into Device Manager -->select Sound, video and game controllers --> right click on the controller that does not have the codec installed. (there is probably a yellow exclamation point next to it) and select properties. A Properties window should open. click on the Details tab--> Where it says Property use the drop down to select Hardware ids.
I need you to post the entire value that is there or post a screenshot like mine so I can see it.
Once I have the information I will see if a codec / driver can be found for Windows 7 64-bit.

That device is a SB400 AC97 Audio Controller chip made by ATI/AMD. I managed to find a few you can try.
Do you really need a modem driver? It has been years since I have used a modem.
