Hi,
I'm using laptop model, hp pavilion dv3000. I was listening to music on windows media player while running
the windows update. Suddenly, the sound from all parts of the laptop does not work anymore. Even with or
without speakers, the sound does not work. I;ve tried removing the battery and restarting, it is still not working.
All suggestions are welcomed.
Please help.
Cheers.

Please identify your notebook/pc .
Look at the base/rear/side of the notebook/pc at the barcoded sticker.
Post items numbered 1 and 2 on the following image. Your barcode may be slightly different but will still have the important imformation needed for us to help you.
###Do not post the serial number as it is personal information.###
Post the installed operating system version ( and whether it is 32 or 64-bit ) and whether the CPU is an AMD or Intel product
Not posting all of the information as requested will delay our responses and slow troubleshooting of the issue that led you to author a thread.
Best regards,
erico

Which Windows version is installed?
The drivers are located here at your notebook's support portal. Install the OS apprepriate driver.
You can also reinstall the drivers from the Recovery Manager or within Windows by using the Device Manager and disc #2 of the recovery disc set.

Hello again,
I've downloaded this file from notebook's support portal:
This package installs the IDT ID92HD71B7 Audio Driver for Windows Vista and Win7 in the supported notebook models.
Now my audio systems are working perfectly.
Thank you very much for your help.
It is much appreciated.
Many Thanks. Cheers ![]()

I have a HP Pavillion dv9000. I pulled up the media player and the sound worked at first then was intermitting and shortly after no sound. The player continues to play, but again, no sound. When I plug in a headset I hear a click or prompt when the Sound,Speech & Audio Devices is selected (Control Panel Mode). That is the only sound I heard. Volume levels are up and mute is off. What can I do next?
Thanks, dbguitarman
