Re: mute button stays red

It looks then all this values are incorrect.

Maybe you will be able to find the full model name.

In the first post information is incompleted: dv7 211

There should be one more number and two letters.

Install the latest IDT audio driver for your model from here.

Restart the system.

Now install HP Quick Launch Buttons here (ver 6.50.13.1 for 32/64 bit Win7),

Restart again and check the result.

Re: mute button stays red

On my HP pavilion laptop dv7-1025nr Product Number FF223UA#ABA , the mute button is continually red. I have windows 7 ultimate as my operating system. The IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Driver Version currently installed is 6.10.6276.0  The touch icon works when muting and unmuting sounds but remains red. Since this issue has occured  my speakers still put out sound but it is muffled. When I checked all driver on my laptop where up to date but for other models mentioned here online there seems to be newer updates. Can you please help me remedy this issue?
