Re: pavilion dv4-1435 "IDT High Audio CODEC for Windows xp"

Well if someone could point me in the right direction it would be a great help I have a dv4 1435 with the sound problem. I have download everything I could find with no luck. I do have a the UAA installed. I just install devcon but have only yellow in the device manager for sound. I think part of the reason if the many failed driver trys I have made. If useing the devcon is my only option what drivers do I load to make it work?

thanks.

Re: pavilion dv4-1435 "IDT High Audio CODEC for Windows xp"

Please, still looking for a little help. I can get the sound to work, but this is what I need to do to make it work and hoping someone might have a little better? I used the devcon program with the .bat file and it did nothing. I then edited the file and put in place my UAA bus pci details. And that got me going. but it still would not run all the way. after I did the devcon with that I then got an yellow on the audio device on high def. from here if I ran the file inside the swsetup\sp41671\wdm\vista\suhlp.exe I get sound. So why is it that I get it this way? i then added a line in the .bat file to load suhlp.exe file at boot up and that also works. Well that did not work I could not get the suhlp.exe to load right in the .bat file so I added it in the startup with the .bat file and this worked. I rebooted and the .bat file ran then it autodetected the sound and alls good. Is there a better way?

Re: pavilion dv4-1435 "IDT High Audio CODEC for Windows xp"

hello friend
in my case it worked with the devcon ... no audio driver! but the UAA driver it loads the audio driver installed and works only when the system Reicin the audio was muted ... if you go into "msconfig" You will see the service "audio service" stopped. then did the following:
inside. devcon the bat arises net start "service name" worked.

exemple:

devcon.exe restart "id of UAAA"

net start "name service audio"

All latest drivers and informations about XP downgrade may be found in Cheryl & Rakhmad guide:

General XP Downgrade Guide for HP Laptops.

How to find Bios update for specific model?

1. Enter HP site for your region.

2. Click on Support & Drivers link. (Upper right part of page which will show up.)

3. Choose option: Download drivers and software (and firmware)

4. In ' For product ' search box type your p/n.

    Resource:

How to Locate the Notebook p/n

5. Click on ' Go ' and choose your current system.

You will find there Bios update.

Important information!

It's very important to check compatibility section for this update to be sure then it is supported by system which you are using now. If it's not listed then I do not recommend to use it.

How to update Bios?

First check which Bios version you've got now. This information may be very helpful if ther will be any problem.

Connect the notebook to the AC power supply.

Disconnect from the internet. Exit from all programs that you are running. Switch off any anti-virus and firewall.

Execute the Bios update exe file. It may take some time. Allow the notebook to restart after applying the updated BIOS.

While this update is running do not:

  • switch off your laptop,
  • disconnect AC power supply,
  • try to run any software or do anything on it .

Bios update is always very risky and may corrupt your notebook. So be careful and have full patience. You will perform this update at your own risk.
