please help, sound has gone off from my HP Pavilion g6-1d16dx Notebook PC, Windows 7. i have checked sound options, and there is no mute anywhere, i just got this laptop barely 3 weeks. kindly assist

Hi

You have a couple of options as I see it please find the steps give below might help you to fix your issue.

Please First check if the speaker icon right hand bottom corner on the unit is not muted.

Go to device manager and uninstall the sound driver and restart and unit will install the driver automatically.

Try doing System restore to the date when the unit was working fine.

Try to update the driver from hp.com website for Audio & Bios.

thanks for the response, but after i went through some other reported issue i found that i can do hard-reset, i tried it and it worked.
