HDMI Audio option not available in sound settings

I have an HP Pavilion DV6871US with a Realtek sound driver.  I am connecting a 32" LCD TV to the laptop via HDMI cable and there is no sound coming out of the computer.  I spent about an hour researching, and tried a few fixes.  Nothing has worked so far.

I did update my realtek drivers through the device manager, but HDMI still does not show up as an available choice.

There are two choices for playback devices:

- Speakers / Realtek High Definition Audio / Working

- Realtek Digital Output / Realtek High Definition Audio / Working

From what I have found there should be a third option that shows HDMI audio.  It isn't there and I am not sure how to get it on the list.  Please help!

Re: HDMI Audio option not available in sound settings

Bump.  Should I contact HP support or is there another alternative?

Re: HDMI Audio option not available in sound settings

I finally got it to work.  I had to select the Realtek Digital Output, disable the Speakers option and then restart iTunes.
