We don't know what fixed it but after following the order listed+ Dvi & hdmi output hooked up our audio started working. We have a PC with no monitor. My husband thinks that the second output caused the computer to "see" two screens even though both cables went to the TV. We also read the user manual for our sharp TV and it said to make sure the output for HDMI is set up specific hertz. after applying that hertz again (was already set there) recommended by the manual of the TV audio finally started working. We think its a combo of the two. Thx!
