I can't hear anything from my hp

This morning, my computer DV4-2142nr was continuously playing music, which I hadn't started so I thought something was wrong with the computer.  I found a program IDT playing this music and so I deleted this program. Not knowing that I think this was my computers sound device, driver.  My volume no longer works, I need serious help please.  I am working with a wind 7 and I have a lot of work to be done, using my speakers, in fact.  Thank you kindly

Re: I can't hear anything from my hp

Hi,

Download and install the IDT driver on the link below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp46501-47000/sp46567.exe

When the installation has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

Regards,
