I saw your post regarding not getting any sound from the TV with your HDMI cable. You are using a straight HDMI to HDMI connection no adapters or converter cables correct? What is set as the default sound device? What operating system are you using? What is the product number for your notebook?

I am still around and happy to help. What I meant by default audio device is a setting under Sound in your Control Panel. This HP document No Sound from HDMI will show you what I mean. This is for Windows 7 but if you search for Control Panel on you main tile page and go to Sound the rest will be the same. Try that and let me know if it works for you.

I have tried the default audio device setting many times and I have set it to the TV that it's plugged into. I have a Panasonic TV that I plug my laptop regularly and I don't have to change any settings and I use the same cables.

At this point I would recommend try a regular HDMI cable instead of a Xbox HDMI cable to see if there is a difference.
