When I connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI, I get no sounds from the T.V, only the picture. I've already been into control panel>hardware and sounds>sounds to try to figure out the problem but still no luck. The HDMI cable is fine because when I plugged it in another device and connected it to the TV, I get sounds and pictures. If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm not exactly what you call tech savvy, but I can follow directions if anyone can help.
OS Win 7 Pro
Under SOUND in Device Manager it says I have
Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI
SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

Go to Control Panel and choose Sound. Select HD Audio HDMI out for the audio output instead of the default Speakers.
The windows should be similar to the following. Since you have Intel HD audio that is what you will see instead of the AMD in the image.

Do I have to connect the laptop to see the option for the HDMI? If not, what do I need to do, because it's not there?
