Hi,

I'm using probook 6470b. The laptop preloaded with Win 7 32bit. But I have upgraded it to Windows 8.1 64bit.

I have installed the IDT High Definition (HD) Audio Driver  . And under Device manager no unknown devices.

The hardware ID for internal microphone is: MMDEVAPI\AudioEndpoints

Any idea whats the reason my laptop mic is not working?

Regards,

Dinesh Vel

Have you tried your own operating system's audio recording troubleshooter?

I do have the same problem with the same laptop. Just that mine is running win 7 64bit. I didn't fix it, but you could try going into the UEFI BIOS of the device and check if its on.

Also, just a question to you. Are you sure you had 32-bit windows on a device that has a 64-bit CPU?
