Sound is playing both on speaker and headphone

My HP Pavillion TS Sleekbook 14 is playing audio on speaker even though I've connected a headphone. In all the programs may it be on internet, video player etc. i just bought this laptop last Aug 3, 2013.

I've tried uninstalling the IDT audio already - doesn't work

Resetting to default settings during the bios - still doesn't help

Please suggest on what is the best way to solve this ASAP

Thanks

Re: Sound is playing both on speaker and headphone

HI

try following

1. from the control panel, Hardware and Sound page, open the Realtek HD Audio Manager].
2. To the right of the page, click on the Analog folder (Connector settings) icon.
3. check the box to enable a pop up box when a device is plugged in and click "OK"
4. plug in your earphones and when the box pops up, click on headphones (vs. llne out)
5. the device then mutes the external speaker!

post result if still you have issue..

Hi

the picture you posted it will take time to show up after approval from hp..

but you can do follow to resolve your issue..

go to your device manager > right click on unknown devices > go to  Properties > then Details tag

select from drop down list called  Hardware ID's (PCI\VEN...) Copy it via right click...

and search it according to it on google or any serch engine you will get the right drivers..

here are the print shoot of process!
