Windows 8.1 Beats audio

Hello all,

Windows 8.1 just released today so I decided to do an update. This wasn't without a few small driver issues though.

My problem now is that the Beats audio effects are no longer working. The driver is installed, and I even went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling, but there is no change. Enabling/Disabling Beats used to work perfectly in Windows 8.

Any idea how to fix this?

I tried the application; the drivers seemed to install sucessfully but the audio equalizer settings are still completely non-functional.

Re: Windows 8.1 Beats audio

Will a new driver be produced or is this something I'll just have to put up with for updating Windows?

Hi

Windows 8.1 was just relased this week.. in some time you should be able to get a combatable driver for it.

Hope this helps.

Re: Windows 8.1 Beats audio

I had the same problem with my HP Envy 17 J034ca. The solution is to uninstall the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver and re-install it.  You can download the driver from HP's website (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5400...)

Hope that helps.

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and no luck. I tried your drivers too, but that just made it even worse for some reason. I'm going to go back to my machine's official drivers and hope this gets sorted soon. Now to move on to that broken Bluetooth driver :smileymad:

Re: Windows 8.1 Beats audio

I know this isn't the section for it, but you should also check some of your other hardware for driver issues. For instance, my Bluetooth driver SEEMED to be working after the update, but Windows 8.1 refuses to accept files sent to it. Even worse is the fact that if you turn off Bluetooth from the Metro settings screen, it will crash the drivers and kill Bluetooth until you uninstall and reinstall them.
