Re: .beats audio install

Hi,

Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.

Re: .beats audio install

Hi,

The product number you've posted doesn't identify a particular notebook - try the following.

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start up to access the Bios Menu - post back with the Model No. and Product No. listed here.

Regards,

Hi,

Your notebooks support page is Here.

The driver you require to install Beats Audio is on the link below - this is the IDT HD Audio driver which also installs the Beats Audio interface.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54001-54500/sp54466.exe

Re: .beats audio install

I have a HP Pavilion dv6. My sound and mic stopped working. After booting it in Safe Mode doing nothing there, then rebooting it, the sound worked. Not the mic but I don't really care about that right now. My beats Audio isn't there though. If I click Fn+B It just shows the Beats logo it doesn't show it turning off or on. The Beats Icon is gone too. Will that download work for me too?

Hi,

I'd suggest trying the following first.

Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your original IDT HD Audio driver - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the document on the link below.

Recovery Manager - Windows 7

After the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has fully reloaded, use Recovery Manager to reinstall HP Quick Launch Buttons - again, when this has completed, restart the notebook.

Re: .beats audio install

The sound works but not the mic. They are under the same driver right? So it makes sense why they both cut off. I feel like the driver is still messed up. Idk. You are the expert. I feel like if I uninstalled that download you sent the sound would go mute again. Which means the driver is still busted. I know I'm rambling but I am really at a loss. This has happened before but not this bad. I believe I have tried everything now? Is there anything you can do? I know this made zero sense but basically sound works but mic still busted.
