How do I make my sound on my HP laptop louder besides the little microphone on the left?

Hi,

One thing can help is the following.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

Thanks, I already tried that.  My laptop is not that old about a year.  Is that old in today's standards?  I went into the sound schemes and there is a drop down and I have Delta in it.  Is that correct do you know?

thanks,

Francine

Hi Francine,

Can you post back with the following.

1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see Here for a guide on locating this information.

2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 64bit ).

Thank You so much. I have had my laptop for more than a year and the sound has always been very low. Your solution really helped.

I have the same problem but I can't see the solution posted here. I am trying to make the volume louder than the standard controls allow me to. Using my laptop for conference calls with a large group of people is difficult.

I have the HP Elitebook Folio 9470m laptop.

My operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise, service pack 1.

Thanks

Kirsten

What was the solution?  It would be nice if you would post the solution in the community even if it was provided in a private message...
