My keyboard volume control & wireless switch (the touch ones at the top of the keyboard) just quit working the other day. I can't figure out how to tell if i turned something off accidentally or what. Rebooting didn't help. The only thing I did differently that day was connect my laptop via cable and shut off the wireless. (I usually work wireless).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

Problems with the capacitive strip can sometimes be helped by performing a Hard Reset as follows.

Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.

Hi...I am having the same issue as the other respondent regarding

keyboard volume control and wireless switch - HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook.

I have tried the fix as suggested earlier...however now instead of the volume bar indicator on the keyboard staying orange, it now is all white. The wireless switch does not even turn on now. The lap top seems to work fine in all other areas (volume via desktop control).

Is there something I am not doing right?

thanks

Solved!    I had similar problem no help from Hp either.  so I finally just pushed the orange (lit up) wireless symbol above the F11 key and wallah it turned blue and the wireless started working.  It does not appear to be a button physically but it actually is. There are actually three buttons above the F6-F11 keys on mine which control the wireless adaptor, volume level and Mute.  I  purchased mine used with no owners manual it took me one hour to fiqure this out after cleaning my key board and accidentally pushing this hidden button.   Hope this helps
