CQ61 recovery DVD not working

Compaq Presario CQ61 WF816EA DVD recovery disks not working. Win7. I have replaced a failed hard drive but when I try to restore/recover the restore manager advises that the disks cannot be used on this computer. I created these restore disks using the restore manager, a one time only creation, it would appear. I am loathed to spend more money to obtain recovery disks from HP. Can someone advise a solution? Thanks

If the user created discs and the recovery partition are not working then I would suggest calling 1-800-hp invent to order recovery discs. You might be able to get them at no cost do to the issues you have experienced. Please make sure you have tried going into F11 at boot to the recovery manager and try to recover from the partition first. Hopefully this helps.
