Can i retrieve my windows 7 home premium product key from my laptop's serial number? it rubbed off.

I recently had to restore my HP Pavilion dv5 (2035dx) with restore to factory settings.  I used the restore discs that came with my laptop (I believe the Geek squad prepared them for me).  My laptop was failing, so I simply inserted the first recovery disc and selected restore to factory settings.  I was able to do this, and this process took a few hours, but it worked.  My laptop began to fail again, and I realized the culprit was a busted hard drive.  I purchased a new one (but with the latest harddrive shortage...), I could only find one that was 160GB instead of the 320GB (for a reasonable price, that is).  Upon getting the new harddrive properly installed, I again tried restore to factory settings, but the program informed me that 'Since your harddrive is not the size of the original harddrive, a factory reset could not happen.'  I chose another option, to just do a clean restore, and it worked, and basically restored my laptop to factory settings, only one thing:  I had Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit, and not Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, like it came with (and like it factory reset to the first time I tried it before I got the new harddrive).

I called around, and found that the Product key for being able to upgrade (back) to Windows 7 home-premium was just on the bottom of my laptop, only, it has rubbed off in the year and a half that I have owned this thing.  There is a somewhat readable bar code next to the product key, and I have all of the serial numbers written on the bottom of the laptop.  **How do I retrieve my Windows 7 Home Premium Product key from either the bar code or these serial numbers?**

Hi,

This is to inform you that we can't retrieve the product key from S/N or with Barcode.

If you want to restore the windows you can use HP recovery manager which is on your laptop(Press F11) or you can order recovery disc from HP.

While installing windows on your laptop the product key automatically get install.
