Cannot access Recovery Console through F11 after hard drive swap

Hello,

I just installed a replacement hard drive with larger capacity onto my ProBook 5310m.  I created an image of all of the partitions from the previous hard drive and copied them to the brand new hard drive.  After installation, the drive booted fine and and all of the partitions were present.

Given that I had lots of unallocated space, I used a partition utility to move the HP_RECOVERY and HP_TOOLS partitions so that I could extend the C: volume into the unallocated space.  That worked fine, but then when I tried to test access the Recovery Console, I received error 0xc0000225: "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccesible."

I've tried running "Fix for HP Multi-partition Recovery Manager" but that didn't solve the issue.

Please advise how I can get the recovery console back on the computer.  I do not want to re-install Windows since the current installation works great with the exception of the recovery console.

Additional Info:
Model: ProBook 5310m
Windows 7 Professional

Thanks,

Brian

Re: Cannot access Recovery Console through F11 after hard drive swap

That is a super complicated fix and beyond my skills, the recovery partition is not where expected when the bootloader looks at the MBR.

Best solution is to use HP recovery discs to restore it properly.
