I have a Compaq Presario v300. I'm trying to do a system restore from the discs but it is giving me an "Error! Cannot copy file X:\PREALOAD\BASE.INP from disc." "please eject and clean disc and try again." but it isn't helping. I tried all of that. What is wrong? Can I do a recovery from D: now?

Hi
Yes you could use the F11 option once unit is powered on and run a recovery but note all data will be lost.

Hi
This case you might have to call HP Technical support and order the Recovery disc.
