Cannot copy file X:\PREALOAD\BASE.INP

I have a Compaq Presario v300. I'm trying to do a system restore from the discs but it is giving me an "Error! Cannot copy file X:\PREALOAD\BASE.INP from disc." "please eject and clean disc and try again." but it isn't helping. I tried all of that. What is wrong? Can I do a recovery from D: now?

Hi

Yes you could use the F11 option once unit is powered on and run a recovery but note all data will be lost.

Let us know how it goes!

Re: Cannot copy file X:\PREALOAD\BASE.INP

When I try that it goes into recovery; says that not all files were copied successfully and to insert disc one. And then repeats the problem.

Hi

This case you might have to call HP Technical support and order the Recovery disc.
