Re: EMERGENCY ! please help me ! Why the OFF key would not boot me into the hp recovery partition ?

Greetings,

While I dislike having to be the bearer or bad news, the previous steps mentioned is your only alternative. You could attempt to bring your PC to a local technician to have your data backed up if you have critical data on your system. While this can be costly, it is your only option at this time. Otherwise, please follow the above options available.
Good Luck

Re: EMERGENCY ! please help me ! Why the OFF key would not boot me into the hp recovery partition ?

Just for clearification

I have created recovery discs a couple days ago by using the hp recovery media creation. And if I did insert the discs in my computer today it will automatically boot me into hp recovery right?

After the recovery, then everything will become the original statue when it first come out of the box am I right?

So will now the F11 key works at start-up? That is to boot me into the hp recovery( not on the recovery discs ), so next time my computer crashed, I will be safe.

One more question, what is hp's warranty for laptop?
Thank

Re: EMERGENCY ! please help me ! Why the OFF key would not boot me into the hp recovery partition ?

Greetings,

If you place the first disc into your DVD rom and start your computer, on the HP screen press Escape until you get a menu. Select the Boot menu and choose CD/DVD-ROM and then enter. Press any key when it tells you to press any key to boot off CD-ROM. This will load the recovery software. Select Immediate help, then select system recovery. This will set your computer up as the day that you first purchased it.

*****WARNING***** You will lose all files and programs that you have installed and placed on your computer since you purchased the unit.

yes, this will allow you to use the F11 key again once the recovery has been completed. HP's typical warranty for the device is one year. We can find out that information for you. If you look on your serial number sticker, it should give you a serial number and product identification code. With this information, you should be able to pull up the exact information through the warranty status checker If your product number has a #ABA or something similar, be sure to include that.
