Elitebook 8560w cant update bios

hi, 

I have an EliteBook pro 8560w i7 FirePro ver.

I encounter few minor issues so I am trying to update the BIOS version.

I currently have the F.03.

I tried downloading and installing several versions from HP site but it just wont update. No errors.  I followed the installation wizard step by steps but it just doesn't update anything, just restart at the end.

I am using windows 7 professional which came with the laptop.

Any ideas?

Is the UEFI environment installed?

Install the HP BIOS Update UEFI software package.

UEFI BIOS updates providem a safe and secure manner to update the BIOS. With UEFI installed one can even roll back the BIOS to a previous version if desired or needed.

I download and installed the UEFI... (again) it seems like it is being installed (progress bar is working) but at the end I see no change. 

How do I run UEFI?  It is nowhere in my aplications.

UEFI is installed in a partition on the hard drive and is essentially the replacement for the BIOS CMOS.

You should be able to update the BIOS by opening the HP support assistant, selecting Maintain and running a Tuneup.

I just ran the the HP TuneUp and the BIOS update is no longer on the list.

But my version is still F.03. 

Is this OK?

What is the version of your opaerating system?

Actually it is OK. If the tuneup in the HP Support Assistant has not recommended a BIOS update, then all shoud be just fine.

I guess I can live with that, but can I know the reason?

My windows is the original Win 7 pro I got with the computer. I just managed to install service pack 1 with a lot of difficulties (I had to dl the iso image from Microsoft site).

I have some issues with this machine (keyboard and mouse goes crazy sometimes and sound glitches every ow and than) and I hoped that updating the BIOS will solve them. 

I have my old 8530w which I love and even after three years  it works great. For some reason I get tons of problems with this one.

Open Windows Explorer and look for C:\ProgramData\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\HPSF_Failed.xml.

If the file exists, delete it.

Once you have done that run the TuneUp application in the HP Support Assistant again.

I tried this method yeaterday and it worked for me.
