Restore7.exe crashes(exception unknown software exception)? How to fix this...

Due to a recent tendency to blue screen, I'm trying to restore factory settings on my HP dv9260nr laptop with Vista Ultimate 64, but the "Restore7" application crashes right when it's about to get to doing it's actual work(after making me restart) this happens regardless of whether I use a disk or the software version. Error code 0xc0000409 at 0x00eb8fb.

I would run the hard drive and memory diagnostics from the bios, use F10 to access the bios right after you power up.
