I have a HP TouchSmart tm2 with Windows 7 Home Premium. The HDD is clicking and will not boot. Error: Boot device not found. I assume I have to replace the HDD but how do I recover/reinstall the OS without a recovery disk? Windows was preinstalled and I have the product key. Thank you.

Hi:
You can order a recovery disk set by following the instructions at the link below.
or...
You can download the 32 or 64 bit version of windows 7 Home Premium ISO file at the link below and use your product key to activate the installation.

You need a DVD burning program that will be able to burn ISO files so that the DVD is bootable. Burn at the slowest possible speed for best results.
Then install any drivers you need from your PC's support and driver page.

I've run into a similar problem and your link for the replacement hard drive is just as dead as my touchsmarts hard drive.

What I posted was a link to order recovery disks, not a replacement hard drive, and yes it is dead, and I cannot find any info on how to order a recovery disk set anywhere on HP's website. I've searched by keyword and such. No info.
I would just call them, and ask if you can order a set of recovery disks for your PC, if that is what you are looking for.
