I have the above listed Netbook that was purchased for my son two years ago for Christmas. Afraid it would be stolen, I put a password in the BIOS but now can't remember it. Conventional methods of resetting the BIOS passwords do not work on the HP Mini netbooks. Does HP offer this service? At what price? And who do I contact?
This has sentimental value to him otherwise I'd simply buy him another one.

Tried depleting the CMOS battery which did nothing. Tried jumping the BIOS chip which did nothing. Tried every password reset posted on the internet. These netbook Mini's are not like ordinary laptops and methods that work on other machines do not work on these specifically since the password seems to get embedded into the eprom chip.

Go to this site.
1. For HP Mini look for Hewlett-Packard/Compaq Netbooks 10 characters click on Windows binary.
2. For 5 digits look for Hewlett-Packard 5 decimal click on Windows Binary.
3. For 8 digits look for Insyde H20 8 decimal click on Windows Binary.
Download then run.
Please help others.
